georgina-in-studioGeorgina Lohan is a multidisciplinary artist currently working in large-scale porcelain sculpture, and pottery.

Her work has developed through extensive exploration and experimentation with materials. As well as painting in watercolour, tempera, acrylics and oil, Georgina has a background in printmaking, carving, casting, fused glass, textiles, set and costume design, jewelry design and mixed media collage.

In 1997, Georgina founded and directed MIA Gallery, a fine art and furniture design gallery, and curated several exhibitions there.

As well as exhibiting her artwork, Georgina has contributed to the development of creative projects including the Eastside Culture Crawl as a founding director, and the AT8 Artropolis Society on the Exhibition Steering Committee, Anything Goes Art Auction/Fend Players Society, anniversary celebrations for the Surrey Art Gallery, and Railtown Studios 2012 Art Salon.

In 2007, Georgina committed to developing a career in ceramics and established her first dedicated clay studio. 2016 presented the opportunity to continue her practice in a new location at the center of Vancouver’s art making hub.

Georgina was recently invited to travel to China with the Craft Council of BC to help establish an artist in residence program in Dehua, Fuijian Province, receiving an invitation to return in 2018 to participate in the pilot residence,

Georgina is based in Vancouver, BC, and has exhibited in Canada, Mexico, and the USA.
